Recently, the calciner kiln upgrade and expansion project for Sinomine Resource (Jiangxi), engineered by Sichuan Calciner Technology (SCT), has successfully commenced operation, achieving its designed production capacity. The high-efficiency low-resistance preheater and stepping grate cooler supplied by SCT have delivered excellent operational performance post-commissioning.

The production line was upgraded from the original hollow kiln by adding a high-efficiency preheater at kiln inlet to enable suspension preheating of lithium concentrate. The external water-spray cooler was replaced by a stepping grate cooler, thereby increasing the temperature of secondary air entering the kiln and reducing natural gas consumption. Additionally, a waste heat boiler was installed for exhaust gas treatment from the grate cooler, maximizing the recovery of residual heat. Before technical upgrading, the project suffered from low unit capacity, unstable operation of certain equipment, and high energy consumption per unit of output. Through SCT’s optimized design of the calcination step, the upgraded line achieved a 20% increase in production capacity and a 15% reduction in energy consumption. The high-temperature steam recovered from waste heat is now utilized in the subsequent Hydromet section, significantly lowering production costs.

Department. In the initial stage of production, facing challenges such as unstable system capacity and uneven material feed at various points, the four-member on-site service team worked overnight shifts, collaborating with the client’s staff to troubleshoot and adjust the process while providing comprehensive training. Their efforts ensured the smooth achievement of designed capacity, earning high recognition from the client for SCT’s professional expertise and service attitude.

The stepping grate cooler upgraded by SCT has demonstrated excellent performance in actual production. The client’s previously used drum cooler frequently suffered from insufficient cooling capacity, with discharge temperatures consistently around 150°C. After switching to SCT’s newly designed grate cooler, the discharge temperature dropped significantly to 70–80°C while maintaining designed capacity. Moreover, the equipment operates under lower load, exceeding the client’s expectations.
